See you there!
Hi everyone!
Hope you’ve had a great fall and beginning of winter so far. Here in Sweden it is the 13th of December, which is also known (ironically) as Saint Lucy’s Day – Luciadagen. In Sweden this is a big festivity which includes choir singing, eating Lucia buns with saffron, and a more modern spin is an alnight movie marathon on the Lucia night in movie theaters.
Although this is a modern Swedish celebration it dates back to the story of the Christian martyr Saint Lucy who died a martyrs death in Syracuse, Sicily around AD 310. The name Lucy derivates from Latin which means lux, lucis ”light”, and so she is the patron for those who are blind. It is said that she was seeking help for her mother’s illness at the Shrine of Saint Agnes, Sicily, when an angel appeared to her in a dream beside the shrine. And so, she became a devout Christian and refused to give up her virginity in marriage and was denounced to the Roman authorities by the man she was to wed. They threatened to drag her off to a brothel if she did not give up her Christian beliefs, but they were unable to move here, even with thousand men and fifty oxen pulling. Instead they stacked materials for a fire around her and set light to it, but she would not stop speaking, saying that her death would lessen the fear of it and other Christians and bring grief to non-believers. They even tried to strike a spear through her throat to stop her talking, but to no effect.

Saint Lucy, admired for her beautiful eyes, even cut them out and sending them to her admirer asking him to be left in peace thereafter. Soon afterwards, the roman consulate in charge was hauled off on charges of theft from the state and beheaded. Saint Lucy was able to die only when given the Christian sacrament. To this day Saint Lucy is often portrayed holding a golden plate with her two eyes.
Another legend also states that Saint Lucy was working to help Christians hide in catacombs during the terror under the Roman Emperor Diocleatin, and in order to bring as many supplies as possible, she needed her hands free and solved this by attaching candles to a wreath on her head.
And so, I will end this entry with a video from when me and my sister did a so-called Lucia procession in a church in Malmö. Good times, good times

How you all doin…? Everything is great here, even though fall has come to Stockholm and Sweden!! Thought it appropriate to look back a little bit at the end of summer and the trip to SSWC 2010 with my sister. Hi everyone!
Hope you had a great midsummer /weekend and that you’ve spent a lot of time in the sunshine! I did, as much as I could, and will put up pictures later of how I spent midsummers day here in Stockholm. Midsummer is a day of festivities in Sweden which is connected to one of the longest days of the year. Will tell you more about it later though
BUT, I promised I would put up a video after my singing course and here it is! The techniques I use are basicly the right stomach/diafragma support and twang. I focus on breathing properly and using the vowels in the song. This is extremely helpful in high notes and makes it much easier to sing and also it sounds a lot better. So enjoy!
ps. The song is called “My Heart Will Go On and is originally sung by Celine Dion. ds.

Hi everyone!
If you live in Sweden (and europe and maybe even cross atlantic) it has been impossible to miss the event of the year.
The royal wedding of our crown princess Victoria and her Daniel.
They met about 10 years ago in his gym and have been together ever since. The funny thing is, I think that any one who was not a royalist in their beliefs actually became a secret supporter that day. The wedding was beautiful and a lot of artist sang at the wedding and the wedding party. Many of them included Björn Shifts, Agnes, Carola, Peter Jöback and many more. I was actually pretty close to the castle and got to witness the whole circus. But most of all I have to say that Daniel held a touching speech to his new wife after the ceremony and basically it stated:
“The greatest thing in life, is love. I love you so much”.
Simple, but so true. There is nothing more important in life than love.
Will end this post with a beautiful song sung by Björn Skifs and Agnes at the wedding ceremony. Enjoy
Love
Lucy
Hi everyone!!
Sorry I haven’t updated my blog, have been very busy with work and other fun stuff happening right now. This weekend I had a little birthday party for my loved ones and it was SO MUCH FUN!!! I love my family and friends, they are the best
This week I am also attending an intense course called Complete Vocal Technique in Stockholm and it is soo fun and stimulating. Basically there is a new singing technique that uses the voice in a new way which makes it much more powerful. It is developed by a fantastic singer called Cathrine Sadolin and after a few hours and masterclasses I can already hear a big difference in my voice!!! Will post a little videoblog later showing you all what I mean
And also, want to thank for the nice comments I get, so much fun reading them and makes me think of new ways to entertain you readers
Have to run now, but will get back to you soon. Hugs!
